China’s one-child policy started only as a voluntary program in 1978 that encouraged couples to have two children or less. The policy was first introduced as a temporary measure but was never removed and continues to this day. Though one-child policy is nation-wide, many groups and minorities are exempt from this rule (only 36% of the population were subjected to the restriction as of 2007).

Tokyo Disneyland and its companion park, DisneySea, are the only Disney theme parks not owned by Disney
The Oriental Land Company (OLC) approached The Walt Disney Company back in 1960 and brought Disneyland to Japan in 1983. The park was designed by Disney Imagineers but operated by OLC. Word on the street is that OLC might also work Disney on the Shanghai Park that’s coming in 2014.
